It was a great pleasure to perform again at this year's Tyler Summer Chamber Music Festival with Diana Norwood and Dean Pieskee.
The afternoon began quite somber, as we performed the Rachmaninov Elegiac Trio in g minor in honor and memory of those who had lost their lives not less than twelve hours before in Orlando, FL, at Pulse Nightclub. These are the moments music is meant for. When humans have no words to describe the atrocities that occur, we respond with music. We will play our music louder and louder until it is heard across the world.
The Beethoven performance was also very fulfilling and I believe we did an exceptional job at capturing Beethoven witty and whimsical characters.
Also, it was great to see two of my former students from Bossier Parish schools, Madelyn Sizemore and Jackson Brossett (pictured below). They are growing into a fantastic young violinist and violist, respectably. Madelyn was even accepted into the highest orchestra at her newest high school!
Thank you to everyone that came to Tyler and showed their support of great classical music. It's wonderful to see so much support growing in Tyler.
